“I understand there is a new ‘smart’ voting system that is so smart, it doesn’t even need voters.” – Swami Beyondananda
According to a controversial yet credible Substack post, there seems to be smoking-gun evidence that a conspiracy of high tech oligarchs and Trumpian influencers manipulated votes in several swing states. This is part of an ongoing legal battle, so it won’t go away.
I suggest you have a look for yourself, and particularly focus on the graphs showing anomalies in significant swing districts. Now, this is not yet a New York Times story – but it is circulating like crazy in progressive circles.
So …is it true?
I will say this. If it IS true, it wouldn’t be anything new.
Before we get into that, though, no “stolen election” story takes the Democrats off the hook. Both pre- and post-election polls suggest that some of the key demographics the Dems rely on – including Latino voters and black men – were migrating away from that party, as were independents who identified with RFK, Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard (two Democrats who were drummed out of that party for their dissenting views).
Among the reasons voters abandoned the Dems:
• Lack of democratic process in Democratic Party – no debates, and managed media to hide Joe Biden’s enfeeblement and then presenting Kamala as fait accompli.
• Abandonment of America’s working class in favor of divisive identity politics.
• The cancel culture.
• Insanely out-of-touch gender agenda – e.g., “pregnant persons.”
• Concession of common sense to the Republicans, as in failure to speak out about “defund the police” and unchecked illegal immigration.
• Heavy-handed COVID lockdown policies that saw many small businesses go under, sending more wealth upward to benefit the billionaire class.
• Censorship of workable treatments for COVID, a misleading propaganda campaign overstating the benefits of the shots, and repression of vaccine injury reports.
So as we take a deeper dive into Republican Party malfeasance, let’s keep in mind the bigger picture. We are dealing with dueling dystopias. On one side we have the Trump-Putin oligarchs (the Sharks gang, if you will) who overtly dominate and manipulate. On the other we have the “soft-cloth totalitarianism” of the rival gang, the “Jets”, who jet-set around the world pretending to care, and support the World Economic Forum agenda of a completely socially-engineered society, where human sovereignty will become an archaic artifact of an irretrievable past.
(For more on the dueling oligarchies idea, see my post Bringing Down the Irony Curtain: We the People Are the Collateral Damage in a Global Gang War.)
With that out of the way, on to stolen elections.
Conspiracy Theory … Or Con’s Piracy Fact?
Let’s set the Wayback Machine to twenty years ago, 2005.
Mark Crispin Miller at the time was a respected progressive journalist, who had written Op-eds for the New York Times and had been a regular guest on numerous network shows. His book The Bush Dyslexicon: Observations on a National Disorder (2001) was widely praised for its humor and insight. Miller was also a professor at NYU and international expert on propaganda, who in fact wrote the introduction for the 2005 edition of Edward Bernays’ classic book, Propaganda.
Speaking of propaganda, you’ll notice the “official” Pravda (I mean Wikipedia) Miller bio downplays the accomplishments that at one time made him a member in good standing of the establishment. Go ahead and read it here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Crispin_Miller) and then read his real biography here (https://markcrispinmiller.com/about/).
Who needs censorship when people have learned to censor themselves, right? Seriously folks, how do you feel about having your intelligence insulted by these “fact-check” arbiters telling you what and how to think?
Back to the story.
In October 2005, Miller published a well-researched book on the 2004 election, Fooled Again: How the Right Stole the 2004 Election and Why They'll Steal the Next One Too (Unless We Stop Them) via a mainstream progressive publisher, Basic Books.
To say that Miller was shocked by the response to the book would be an understatement.
He was completely ghosted by mainstream media – no one would dare mention, let alone review his book. (Who needs the negative publicity of a book banning when you can “disappear” a book before it even hits the stands?)
An even greater surprise was the response by the “left-wing” press, like Mother Jones, the Guardian, etc. They excoriated Miller as a “conspiracy theorist.” He truly thought these “radicals” would embrace his courageous book. He was just learning what the term “controlled opposition” means.
I got to meet Mark shortly after the book was published, when he and I both presented at an event in Santa Rosa, and I could see his discomfort in transitioning from reputable journalist to pariah. He later told me that shortly after the book was published, he found himself at an event with John Kerry, who was of course the Democratic Party nominee who had lost this “stolen” election. He walked up to Kerry and told him about the book and the implications.
Kerry’s response was, “Oh, yeah? Well, we definitely need to look into this.”
End of conversation. Never to be mentioned again.
Then, there’s the case of Mike Connell.
Who?
Mike Connell, Karl Rove’s go-to IT guy who was set to testify about his role in alleged Ohio voter fraud in 2004. In an amazing coincidence, Connell died in a private plane crash shortly before he was about to testify in late 2008. A year or two after that, a respected progressive journalist told me privately he was convinced this was no “accident.” Of course, that assertion was never made publicly.
Oh, and then there’s the totally unrelated – but eerily similar -- case of Sen. Paul Wellstone, who had opposed the Patriot Act and was set against the Iraq War, who likewise died in an unfortunate plane crash in 2002. Talk about coincidences. This one had “coincidence theorists” all aflutter …. “Wow, what are the odds? This has to be one of the TOP COINCIDENCES of all time!”
Back in less evolved cultures, dissidents were stoned to death. Here in the modern world, they get “wellstoned” instead.
Apologies for this dark joke, when the real issue is the dark tragedy of a body politic too timid and unsophisticated to appreciate that the more accurate definition of “conspiracy theory” is “pattern-recognition.” As an awakened-beyond-woke Mark Crispin Miller has pointed out many times, “conspiracy theory” was a term put into circulation by the CIA in the 1960s to discourage and discredit any further investigation of the JFK assassination.
Years ago I wrote an article about Fox News for a progressive publication that I called “Come On Baby Fight My Liar,” about the blatant and easily-disprovable lies Fox broadcast, that conservative ditto-heads parroted as gospel truth. I concluded the article saying, “It certainly looks like conservatives like being lied to. Progressives on the other hand prefer lying to themselves.”
While this remark got me “fired” by that publication, to me it represented an uncomfortable truth. Good-hearted and compassionate people are too often unwilling to look evil in the eye (unless of course they are given a “poster child” like Donald Trump to rail against). It’s this kind of self-deception that has enabled otherwise sane and reverent people to turn away when looking directly into the heart of darkness presents too much of a spiritual challenge.
Think about it … from the Kennedy assassination to the other “coincidental” political assassinations of the 60s …to the unquestioned answers around the 9/11 attacks …and the aforementioned silence around the possible stolen election in 2004 and the convenient demise of Paul Wellstone in 2002. In each case, too many people of conscience looked the other way.
I have jokingly yet bluntly called it “Not-Seeism” – choosing to not see what is too uncomfortable to look at. I remember many times over the past decades when I would offer some discomfiting provable political fact to my more “spiritual” friends, they would give me the “talk to the hand” treatment and say, “We don’t want to go there.”
My response was always, “Well, ‘there’ has already come here.”
And so it has.
So for those people railing about our current dire political “shituation” as if somehow we caught it, like some random germ, and who cling to the belief that our collective dark night of the soul is all because of one Dark Knight of the Soulless, let me offer an alternative view.
This “American devolution” has been built over decades – and every unaddressed perpetration that I mentioned above put another brick in that wall.
I’ve heard so many of my “evolutionary” friends utter the words, “we were made for these times.” And yet … so many have fallen back onto the familiar and futile left vs. right battlefield that keeps us on the same not-so-merry-go-round, rather than rising to the meta-view they rhetorically embrace – we’re all in it together.
Well, guess what? “All” means ALL – including those we don’t agree with.
If indeed these are “apocalyptic” times where the veils are being lifted, those who see themselves in the spiritual evolutionary vanguard need to take leadership. If you can’t look unblinkingly into the heart of darkness, you can’t bring the light.
That means bringing together the power of loving coherence to enable us to individually and collectively “metabolize” these perpetrations. As the saying doesn’t quite go, the truth shall UPSET you free.
The Great Upwising – A Call to Awaken Beyond Woke and Anti-Woke
As a one-time political scientist (and no, I never ventured far enough into the field to actually dissect a politician in poly sci lab), I am reminded of the unprincipled principle that keeps the dominator system in place – divide and rule. As long as a population is kept busy fighting one another, a corrupt system can continue to operate with impunity, knowing there is no coherent power to hold it accountable.
And … there actually IS a coherent power, an untapped spiritual resource that can transform divide-and-conquer into unite-and-prevail. Consider that even though we are more politically polarized than ever, more than 75% Americans polled long for a way to cooperate and collaborate.
The missing piece – or if you will, “peace” – is a sane and sacred center, a collective spiritual foundation that is at the foundation of every religious, spiritual, and secular ethical system. It can be boiled down to the Golden Rule or the golden commandment set forth by Jesus – love God, love thy neighbor.
The problem is, we are at the effect of a modern day “Tower of Babel” – or is it “babble” – where a 24/7 “antisocial” media peddles fiercely competing narratives that demonize the other, and lie about our own side’s perpetrations. In other words, mutually-assured separation that allows the “sociopathogens” to run rampant.
So … those who seek to be the political leaders of the future (which is here now, incidentally) must be the uniters who instead of turning away from the shadow, face it, and bring the light of love and truth to the endarkened corridors of power. This requires an awakening beyond woke and anti-woke, that will – in Swami Beyondananda’s words “bring left and right front and center to face the music and dance together.”
What I am jokingly yet seriously calling the Great Upwising is a four-step program that can empower our battered body politic to awake and “awise”:
Wake Up to the illusion of separation, and how we’ve been hoodwinked by rival gangs of winking hoods.
Wise Up to the power of loving coherence that calls forth a “sane and sacred center,” a transpartisan, trans-religious moral authority that the 90% of us who aren’t sociopaths can agree upon.
Grow Up from children of God to adults of Good, rise above the victim / villain racket, and become wise, sovereign citizens capable of self-rule.
Show Up on a new playing field, ready to play a new game – “thrival” for each and all, where we maximize both individual freedom and collective wellbeing.
For those rolling their eyes and thinking how hopelessly “utopian” this sounds, I remind you of the binary choice presented by Bucky Fuller’s prophetic book 50 years ago – Utopia Or Oblivion. I would also quote my colleague, cellular biologist Bruce Lipton who says that what we would call utopian our body would call “health.”
We humans are now facing our greatest evolutionary crisis / opportunity / challenge.
Will we “wise” to the occasion?
Stay attuned.
Hi Steve,
I'd like to talk with you about your ideas ... especially the show up one that goes beyond "wake up, wise up, grow up." How best to do that - if you are interested. I'm not sure about putting my email here.
You and I met originally through Arnold Patent - I think. :)
Excuse me? All these "reasons" were the product of massive misinformation machine by Russia and Musk.
