Thanks for sharing Zoe ... compared to the other two bozos on the "official" debate stage, we finally have an "adult" in the room -- in contrast with the "adulterer" and the "adulterated."

Thanks Ned. Having watched the two other blithering, blathering fools, each in their own way lying, we need this alternative and we need to encourage the courage to make the break with the two-potty system

Above and beyond the puppet show theater we are diverted to watch, who or what is “behind the curtain?”

The "puppet show" metaphor is exceedingly apt, Steve, and there are rumors that the puppeteers are going to switch out one of the puppets in tonight's debate for a surrogate/stand-in puppet:

Have Americans just been informed that the U.S. Democratic Presidential candidate is now California Governor Gavin Newsom?

Because nothing at this level happens by accident.

In a curious turn of events, California Governor Gavin Newsom is set to take the national stage tonight - not as a presidential candidate himself (yet), but as a surrogate and spin doctor for President Joe Biden in his debate against Donald Trump.

Thanks, Ned. I've been sensing this as inevitable (hmmm can we call it the "Old White Man Replacement Theory") and what has been holding it back is the Democrats' fear of trying anything new. Perhaps they are waiting to see how the debate goes, and there's always the Convention. Also worth note is the "passing over" of Kamala Harris ... And, while Newsom fits the "image" of a let's say Clinton or Trudeau, my sense is the Democrat leadership so misunderstand why people are moving toward Trump, that they don't recognize that he won't reclaim any voters who have already dismissed Biden. Newsom is just another neoliberal, a Wolfawitz in Sheepowitz's clothing who represents that same "new world order" that curiously has the same "old world odor." He may be trying to defend California where now last I heard in San Francisco anything below $117,000 a year is poverty level for a family of four. No matter how the mainstream Dems insist the economy is "good", everything has gone from expensive to unaffordable. When voters look at California, they won't flock to vote for this next empty coat.
